Kattimani Redemption earns Hyderabad FC Maiden ISL Championship: We have finally come to the end of an amazing season and Hyderabad FC becomes the Hero ISL 2021-22 Champions for the first time. The Nizams had to battle hard and clinch the title in the penalty shoot-out. Goalkeeper Laxmikant Kattimani became the hero as the horror of 2015 is now vanished. Manolo Marquez came oh so close last year to secure the semifinals spots but fell short in a knockout tie against FC Goa. However, the process which started in the last year has now been at its peak as Hyderabad FC emerged as the winner.

Kattimani Redemption earns Hyderabad Maiden ISL Championship: ISL 2021-22
Hyderabad FC defeated the mighty Kerala Blasters FC in the final to achieve greatness(for the fans) after decades. Meanwhile, Kerala Blaster led through Rahul KP’s strike from outside the box. Goalkeeper Kattimani could have kept it out but failed miserably. Substitute Sahil Tavora who replace Souvick Chakraborty has scored an absolute beauty from outside the box to beat Golden Glove Winner, Gill in the 88th minute.

Both teams played a good 30 minutes more but could not find any breakthrough. Kattimani became the hero by saving 3 out of 4 penalties. Halicharan Narzary scored the winning penalty by sending Gill the other side. After winning the ISL championship, Hyderabad FC will have a chance to fight for the AFC Cup qualifiers slots. However, there are still calculations to complete as AFC is going to introduce a new roadmap.
