West Bengal win 7 goal thriller against Meghalaya – Hero Santosh Trophy 2021-22: After suffering comprehensive defeat at the hands of Kerala, West Bengal win 7 goal thriller against Meghalaya to solidify their position in quest to qualify for the Santosh Trophy semifinals. Notably, Priyant Singh made a double save from the spot-kick to deny Meghalaya in the closing minutes of the game. The final scoreline read 4-3 in favor of the most successful team in the competition.

West Bengal started the game on the front foot as they created so many chances through Fardin and Subham. Eventually, West Bengal took the lead through Fardin from a beautiful cross by Dilip Orawn. Dilip had yet another assist in this match. He was instrumental to West Bengal’s success so far. In the 85th minute, Hardy took the spot-kick and Priyant saved twice to deny Meghalaya.

West Bengal move up to second in the points table. The game had everything as Mahitosh Roy was announced the “Hero of the Match”. However, the howlers in defence have raised so many questions. So, we have to wait and see how Bengal coach Ranjan Bhattacharjee reacts to the game.
