COA Ceased, AIFF Administration to manage the day-to-day affairs of All India Football Federation, CHECK OUT Supreme Court Order: The Indian Football Fraternity was eagerly waiting for today and Government of India and Supreme come together to cease Committee of Adminstrators(COA). Perhaps, Football won, according to some section of the fans. Here is all you need to know about today’s order by the Honorable Supreme court of India.

The AIFF Election program is permitted to be modified by extending the date of election by a period of one week; Voters’ list for the ensuing election shall consist of representatives of state associations; Returning officers will continue.

Day-to-day management of AIFF shall be looked after by the AIFF administration led by the acting secretary general (Sunando Dhar) exclusively. The Executive committee of AIFF shall consist of 23 persons: 1. 17 members (inclusive of the President, Treasurer, and VP) will be elected by an electoral college consisting of 36 state associations. Six members shall be drawn from eminent players.

The government of India will request Bhaichung Bhutia’s services for a much larger role in football than what he is aiming for. The former India captain has approached the Supreme Court in support of the recent reforms sought to be introduced by the apex court.

With this announcement, the ball is now on the court of FIFA. As mentioned earlier, the Government of India and the Supreme Court of India did everything possible to lift the suspension that was imposed by FIFA on 14 August. It remains to be seen how the World Football Body reacts amidst the change of stance by the GOI. We can expect more clarification in the next few hours. FIFA is also likely to share a release in while to clarify their situation.
