CFL 2025 Match Preview: Emami East Bengal FC keen to continue their winning momentum against DHFC in their quest for the title
After beating United Kolkata SC 3-0 in their Calcutta Football League (CFL) 2025 Premier Division Championship Round opener at the East Bengal Ground on Thursday, Group A toppers Emami East Bengal FC will face Group B runners-up Diamond Harbour FC in their second Championship Round clash at the Kishore Bharati Krirangan on Sunday afternoon (Kickoff: 3 PM).
The Red & Gold Brigade are currently on a five-match winning streak, having scored 14 goals and conceded just once in these five encounters.
Diamond Harbour FC, meanwhile, finished second in Group B with 25 matches from 12 games. They were awarded a walkover victory against Southern Samity who decided not to field their team in their final Group B fixture.
In their opening Championship Round match against Suruchi Sangha, DHFC registered a 4-0 victory at the Naihati Bankimanjali Stadium on Thursday.
Speaking about his team’s preparation on the eve of the match, EEB B Team Head Coach Bino George said, “As I said after the last game, we are treating every Championship Round match as a final. Both teams haven’t found much time for recovery, but we are mentally and physically ready for Sunday’s match. Everyone knows DHFC is a formidable opponent. We have got our plans ready and would request our fans to fill the Kishore Bharati Krirangan on Sunday afternoon.”
The match can be streamed live on the SSEN app.
