East Bengal New Signings: East Bengal have already started its transfer activities a few weeks back without sorting out the investor issues. In spite of the pending deal with Emami Group, the officials have signed quite a few players through pre-contract. The golden glove winner of Hero I-league 2021-22, Bhaskar Roy has signed a pre-contract or a one-year deal with East Bengal. The goalkeeper can still join other clubs if better offers arrive.

Bhaskar Roy signs a pre-contract with East Bengal:

The goalkeeper have drawn interest from a few ISL clubs including I-League clubs. However, the shot-stopper has decided to sign for East Bengal. The Red and Gold brigade will play the upcoming CFL and Durand Cup. So, Bhaskar will have a chance to prove himself in those competitions. It was a wiser decision for the goalie as he would get enough game time to perform at the highest level.

Bhaskar Roy has secured 7 clean sheets in 18 appearances helping the club to reach the championship stage. He possesses good distribution skills which is a key factor in modern football. Having previously played for clubs like Minerva Punjab, and Southern Samity, the 28-yar-old will face an easier challenge to get used to playing for the big clubs. Aizawl FC’s head coach believes Bhaskar is one of the best ball-playing goalkeepers in India. Roy has the potential to play at the top level.

East Bengal can’t sign these players permanently as they will be giving the Football rights to the investors. As we mentioned earlier, The Club officials are yet to meet the Emami officials face-to-face. So, we have to wait for a few weeks for the official announcements.
