Mohun Bagan, FC Goa Play Out Goalless Friendly in ACL Two Prep: The Mariners took on the Gaurs in a friendly game today with both team failing to find the back of the net as preparations continue. The line up for the ISL Champions featured Vishal Kaith in goal, while Tom & Mehtab starting as the two centre backs. Abhisekh Tekcham Singh and Asish Rai started in both fullbacks.
With the formation being 4-2-3-1, Tangri & Apuia started as the two holding midfielder. Kiyan Nassiri and Liston were the wingers while Sahal started just under the shadow of Cummings. The Gaurs started the first half on the positive note, creating bulk of chances early in the game. Vishal had his work cutout with plenty of strikes coming at him through former East Bengal striker Siverio and Borja also chipping in with potent attempts.
The mariners grew into the game with time passing by as they created dangerous moments in patches in the later half of the first 45. In the start of second half, Molina did not make any changes however, there were signs to see that change was inhabitable.
The latest signing of the club Robson Robinho came to the pitch in the 79th minutes and with no time he started show some trick of his own to open up the gaurs’ defence. However, none of the players did enough to break the deadlock as both team went into the dressing room with plenty of things to work on the in the few days as they prepare for the AFC Champions League Two Group Stage match. The Mariners will play against AHAL FC on 16th September while FC Goa will take on against Al Zawraa on the 17th. The Guar also have a next home game against one of the most populous teams in Asia, Ronaldo’s Al Nassr.
