Sandesh Jhingan gives credit to the Coaching Staff:
ATK Mohun Bagan remains unbeaten in 14 consecutive matches. However, the entire Green Maroon camp is plagued by injuries. Despite this, Juan Ferrando’s team almost entered into the last four after beating Bengaluru. However, the Spanish coach is not satisfied even staying at the third position in the league table. So, on Monday afternoon, he went down to practice with the footballers. ATK Mohun Bagan has to play against Chennaiyin FC on Thursday. The team’s defense played well along with Liston Colaco’s world-class goal and Manvir Singh’s brilliant goal on Sunday night. Sandesh Jhingan has been named Man of the Match for the first time after joining the team in the middle of the league. After the match, Sandesh and Manvir had a talk with the ATKMB media team.
Sandesh Jhingan:
It feels good to get the Man of the Match award because I joined the team in the middle of the competition. Adapting to the team was as difficult as the days I went to play in Croatia. It was difficult to reach my best fitness level after crossing the hurdle of Quarantine and Covid. However, I was able to return with the help and support of the team’s coaching staff, coach, and associate footballers. I am grateful to them. That’s why I want to dedicate the award of the Man of the Match to my wife, family, and the team.
It is not my sole achievement that Bengaluru didn’t score a goal against us. Tiri and I adjusted again, but it wouldn’t have been possible without the others. If Liston, Manvir had not scored, we would not have won the match. Roy Krishna and David Williams are great footballers, but we did not get them in the Bengaluru match. Those who played tried to give their best.
I still haven’t reached my best fitness level. I wake up every morning thinking about how to improve myself. If we fail to become the champion, there will be no worth staying 14 matches unbeaten. We want to win both the trophy and the shield. I want to move towards that goal. However, the task is quite difficult because there are many good teams in the league.

Manvir Singh:
For me, a team’s win is more important than my own goal. However, it is a fact that after my goal, we became sure to get the three points from the Bengaluru match. It could have happened in the first half. We wasted many easy opportunities then. In fact, we didn’t get goals; maybe God did not want so, but I believe that goals will come after trying continuously. However, we lost four points in the previous two matches. As a result, it was important to get three points from this match.
Our team will surely reach the last four, but the main goal is to become the champions. We all are trying. But the task is difficult. There is no point in thinking about what the other teams are doing. Our goal is to win the remaining two matches of the league. Let’s see what will happen.
