AIFF Elections and No ban for Indian Football
Hon’ble SC in its interim order cleared the deck for #AIFF elections which will be held by the COA in terms of the Draft Constitution (incl Art 26) within the schedule so indicated; viz within the next about 30 days.
SC Bench headed by HMJ DY Chandrachud in its interim order upholds 50% representation (24 male & 12 female eminent footballers of outstanding merit)in both General Assembly & Executive Comm of #AIFF. This is historic as never before hc players got a voice in the administration.

SC further held that this interim arrangement shall be without prejudice to the rights & contentions of parties and the interim body so elected shall continue for 3 months subject to the constitution being finalized by the court in the meantime.
SC further held that the Interim body so rejected shall not claim any equities and that this arrangement is subject to further orders of the Hon’bleCourt. The matter will now come up for hearing all objections to the Draft Constitution so prepared by COA in the third week of Sept.
SC also orally clarified that there is no stay of DHC proceedings wherein judgment on all aspects of sports administration by Indian Olympic Association #IOA stands reserved on 12.04.2022 in my PIL on sports. Hoping, this judgment would soon be pronounced by Hon’ble Delhi HC.
