Mumbai City FC ACL 2022 – The Islanders aim historic win in the upcoming AFC Champions League: Mumbai City FC became the second team from India to secure the Champions League berth after FC Goa. The Islanders have won the ISL 2020-21 Shield to seal their spot in the biggest competition on the continent. Meanwhile, head coach Des Buckingham is clear in his mind on what he needs to do.
Mumbai City FC have played two friendly matches ahead of the campaign. Talking about the preparation, head coach Des Buckingham added, ” We have played two friendlies against quality opponents. We have already completed three training sessions in Riyad. Players and staff are looking forward to the six matches. My mind is very clear. We have good people at this football club. We have got good players and staff. I am very clear about what we want to do and how we achieve that. ”

Talking about personal experience, des shared his thoughts, ” This is my 20th season of coaching. As a coach, you always want to coach against the best. Champions League is certainly the highest level you can do that. So, we are looking forward to the matches. ”

We have so many messages of support from every club at ISL, I-League, and community football in India. They are sp well received when you are away from home. Our players will be doing as much as they can to represent the country on this stage. For the fans who are currently in Saudi Arabia, we are having fans in the stadium for almost two years. So, please continue to support us. We are looking forward to having you supporting us from wherever you can, ” the coach concluded.
Meanwhile, Mumbai City FC will face Al-Shabab in their first group stage match at 10.45 PM IST. Moreover, the match will be available on Disney plus Hotstart and on Star Sports 3.
